Museum Day

Yesterday, we went to the Austin Children's Museum. The girls had a great time with the exhibits! It was "Fun with Physics" and each exhibit was an experiment with golf balls.

DAILY LIBERAL DOSE: Quote by Theodore Roosevelt... remember, he was a Republican!

"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."

Happy Father's Day... and other stuff...

This past week was a busy week for us. My mom was visitng, the girls had Vacation Bible School at the Lakeway Church, and of course, Father's Day.

This was the first year that Skylar was old enough to attend VBS so she was very excited! The girls also had a great time with my Mom here. Most of the time was spent relaxing and playing with the kids. They're always sad to see their Mema leave!

Yesterday, we spent most of the day at the Lakeway Swim Center - until we couldnt take the hot sun any longer. Thank goodness for 50 spf sunscreen or we would have all been sunburned for sure!

Summer In Texas

Thursday, 9 June 2005

My friend Carol Soucy... oops, I mean "Walasek" all the way from Park City, Utah has motivated me to quit dragging my feet and finally put this together. I've had this program on my computer now for a good 6 months but just kept staring at it hoping it would one day create itesef... didn't happen. Alas, here I am finally getting the motivation to create our little blog. I hope you all enjoy peeking in at us in our little town of Lakeway.

For those of you that don't know... Lakeway is a little town due west of Austin , on the outskirts of the Texas Hill Country. Lakeway's claim to fame is its prime position on Lake Travis (the self-proclaimed "cleanest lake in Texas"), and of course, the DEER. Deer everywhere. We used to think - "oh, how cute they're sleeping right in our own front yard." Now we think... "ugh, there go the deer again, eating our plants and pooping in our yard." The only cuteness I see now is when the does give birth to the little ones in the spring time.

Summer has been upon us for several weeks now and the girls are adjusting to later nights and later mornings. Our days consist of playdates, swimming at the Lakeway beach (which is now down the street since we moved) and swimming at the neighborhood swim center... that's about all they're interested in doing - swimming swimming swimming. Sydnee has been a fairly good swimmer for a couple of years now and over the past year Skylar has blossomed and almost surpassed her big sister... well, lets just say - Sydnee isn't as keen on suggesting swimming races with Skylar like she used to be.

This summer also has us looking forward to alot of fun events including some out of town visitors... a visit by Mema this weekend, and a visit by Marcia & Keith later this summer. Hopefully, I can keep my camera busy and my brain functioning just enough to remember to update this so everyone can see what we're up to!

Until next time,
Jen :)
